Merging Ohen:ton Karihwatehkwen with Agroforestry + Agriculture
We are thrilled to invite Valerie Gabriel – Tall Tree Learning Center + youth farm workers of Kanehsatake + Kahnawake on July 30th at 3:30pm for their collective talk : Merging Ohen:ton Karihwatehkwen with Agroforestry + Agriculture.
This workshop will teach about the integration of the Ohen:ton Karihwatehkwen (the words before all else) or thanksgiving address into business structure and youth employment training in the Agroforestry sector, and community supported agriculture. During the presentation, you will have the opportunity to meet the owners of Nations Garlic and Dearhouse Farms, and founders of the Tall Tree Learning Center and ask questions to the youth farm workers of Kanehsatake, and Kahnawake of their experiences during their time at the farm.
Tall Tree Learning Center is a group of business owners, professionals and experts in all industry sectors who offer educational workshops to youth and organizations who wish to learn about sustainability and food production in line with kanienkehaka worldviews.
